Abby and Me

Friday, March 31, 2017

In honor of national Puppy Day a couple days ago, Abby and I decided to spend the day together. Can I just say how beautiful this was? We went on her favorite walk and it couldn't have been more perfect.

Thanks for stopping by!

Casual Day Downtown

Thursday, March 30, 2017

I usually dress like this for everyday wear. Like most people, I am typically busy and like to be dressed nice, but practical. This bag allows me to carry everything I need for the day (ie laptop)! I got my first pair of Keds about six months ago and they have quickly become my favorite pair of shoes. They go with almost anything and are so ridiculously comfy.

Let me know if you want me to do a what's in my bag post!

Crop Top Adventure

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

I got this crop top last summer at the end of the season, so this was my first time getting to wear it! My pants are actually a jumpsuit from Target that I also wear as pants. These are one of my favorite pairs of earrings from Kendra Scott. This day was so beautiful out, I went for a walk and decided to hammock!

Savannah Guide

Monday, March 27, 2017

I will be continually adding more to this page! I thought I would share with ya'll my guide to Savannah which includes both touristy and more local things. I have marked the things I know are dog friendly with a DF.

Places to Eat:
Marche De Macarons
Many of you who know me, know that macarons are my favorite sweet treat. These are the best I have ever had! They are always fresh and have seasonal flavors as well.

Zunzi's
This is a South African themed take-out restaurant. I love it for their unique tea and excellent gluten-free options!
-DF

The Cotton Exchange
One of my favorite places to eat downtown, located on River Street.

The Crab Shack
My family has been coming here for years. Our favorite thing to order is the Captain's platter.
-DF

A Chocolate Dream
I am a huge fan of chocolate! I love this little store located on Broughton Street.

The Sugar Shack | Tybee
I cannot say enough good things about this place! Although it is small, the food and ice cream are phenomenal. My favorite is their breakfasts and milkshakes.
-DF

River Street Sweets
This one is a little touristy, but I stop in every time I'm downtown. My favorite thing to get is their Pralines and they usually have samples!

Tybean Art and Coffee | Tybee
I have tried a lot of local coffee shops and this is by far the best. They feature local art and have a live-in cat named Bean. I highly recommend trying their scones and their Dirty Chai Latte.

Places to Shop:
The Paris Market
This is the cutest little store ever. They have products from all over the world, gorgeous seasonal decor, beautiful fashion books, and a little bakery as well.

Savannah City Market
The best part of the City Market is all of the local art galleries.
-DF

Alex Raskin Antiques
One of my favorite Antique stores downtown (although there are many more). They have floors and floors of stunning antique furniture and decor.

Brighter Day Food Market
One of my favorite 'hippie' stores. They have a wide variety of gluten free foods and fresh made smoothies, as well as a lot of unique foods, beauty products, and vitamins.

Woof Gang Bakery | Pet Supply Store
What a cute store! They have a variety of things for your pup, including baked goods, collars (with bowties), and many other accessories.

Things to Do:
Telfair Art Museum
For Valentine's Day, my boyfriend buys us yearly passes to this art museum. It is a three part museum: The Telfair, The Jepson, and The Owens-Thomas House. My favorite is the Telfair, which features classic paintings.

Bonaventure Cemetery
This is known as one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world.
-DF

Old Sheldon Church Ruins
Even though it is a little out of the way, this is one of my favorite places to visit! It is so gorgeous, it is frequently used for engagement photos and weddings.
-DF

Cathedral of St. John the Baptist
This is such a gorgeous building. Whether you enjoy church or not, it is worth stopping by to see the architecture

Forsyth Park
One of my favorite class breaks is to go to Forsyth during the week. Most people recognize it for the fountain, but there are tons of other things around it. The Mansion hotel and Brighter Day that I have linked are right off of Forsyth, as well as a cute little garden and Starbucks coffee shop.
-DF

Fort Pulaski
Located near Tybee, Fort Pulaski is a beautiful national monument. As well as being able to go inside the fort, there are some walking trails along the water.
-DF

Places to Stay:
The Mansion
I cannot express how much I love the interior of this hotel. It is gorgeous and located right next to Forsyth Park.

The Bohemian
They have an amazing rooftop bar and are located on Bay Street

Beachview Bed and Breakfast | Tybee
The cutest B&B on Tybee! I toured it during the Tybee tour of homes and fell in love.

A few of my Favorite Things: Watch Edition

Thursday, March 23, 2017

Watches are one of the most classic accessories a woman can own. I love simple designs with bold shapes. Watches make such a great accessory because they can either be dresses up or dressed down depending upon the occasion. These are my current favorites. I really love Daniel Wellington and Michael Kors watches. Click on any of the images for more details and I've included below more of my favorites!

School Clothes

So, I'm not sure about you, but I LOVE dressing comfy for class. Don't get me wrong, I love dressing up! However, like most college students I am so busy during the week studying and such that I don't dress up. I am much more productive when I am comfy. My favorite things to wear are: leggings, running shorts, short shorts, sorority tees, and pullovers (I steal my poor boyfriend's pullover at least twice a week). I usually dress it up with my accessories and doing my hair and makeup. My favorite places to get leggings are: Old Navy, Lauren Conrad, Lululemon, and Amazon(for fleece lined leggings). I got one of the True Grit pullovers back in November and love it! I got a size small and it is oversized, so if you are looking for it to be fitted, I would recommend looking at the children's sizes. I also included some examples of sorority tees that I found on Pinterest. So here are some of the things I have and would like to get, as well as accessories!

Spring Break

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

Hey guys!

I just got home from Spring Break on Sunday and I wanted to share it with you all! My boyfriend and I decided we wanted to take a road trip to Canada. I had never been out of the country before so I was very excited! Along the way we stopped at some amazing sights. I included some photos from my favorite stops!

My first favorite was a State Park in Virginia. They had wild ponies there! You couldn't touch them or feed them, but they loved coming up really close to us. You can see the photo of my boyfriend photographing the ginger pony, which was his favorite. My next favorite stop was at Cucumber Falls in Pennsylvania. The waterfall was covered in ice! We were able to climb all around it, and it was gorgeous. My last favorite stop was in Canada! Unfortunately, my camera was not working while we were there, but it was gorgeous! We used Airbnb to get a house in walking distance from Niagara Falls. Canada was also having a snowstorm while we were there. We only stayed one night and got almost 3ft of snow.  It was also hard to see Niagara Falls because there were white out conditions, but I still loved it.

The way we camped was by borrowing his parents Expedition. We knew it was going to be cold on the trip and didn't want to camp in the cold, so the car provided us with enough room to actually put a mattress in the back. It was extremely comfortable. We made a chart and each night found free or cheap places to camp. In Pennsylvania, we knew the snowstorm was supposed to start, so we got an impromptu hotel room and stayed up watching The Bachelor finale.

For food, we prepared before we left. Both he and I are gluten free for medical reasons, so we had to find mostly nonperishable foods that accommodated that. For breakfast I usually had a larabar. Sometimes I would also stop and get coffee. For lunch, we brought a variety of gluten free bread and a cooler with sandwich meat and mayo. Once we ran out of that we made PB&J sandwiches. For dinner, we would use his camping gear and cook things like oatmeal, mashed potatoes, or prepackaged meals. We also made a couple of stops at Waffle House.

A couple of mishaps happened on the trip. The first that happened the check engine light started flashing while I was driving. We took it to a car care place and they informed us that the third engine coil had broken and had to be changed immediately before we could continue driving. It was late at night and we were in an unfamiliar place. Our solution was to watch a YouTube video on how to replace the part. After about 2 hours we finally had it fixed!

The next mishap was while driving up a very steep incline where the road was not salted and there was a thick layer of ice and snow, the four wheel drive decided not to engage. We had another car behind us and our car started sliding backwards. We ended up having to break down backwards and let them pass. After that, we were able to play with the four wheel drive and get it working.

It was such an incredible trip and I will definitely be revisiting a lot of these places!

2017

Tuesday, March 7, 2017

Today I am sharing with you guys a look at 2017 so far (and a little bit from December)!

To start off, my boyfriend and I attended my sorority's formal. It was a gorgeous evening and we had a great night of friends and fun.

I spent the beginning of my Christmas break in Utah! It was so beautiful and I had never been before. We stayed in Moab and went to some of the national parks out there.

The first photo is of Delicate Arch. The photo does not do it justice. Through the arch, you could see snowy mountains. The second photo is of my boyfriend and I. Did I mention it was cold?? I don't particularly like the cold, so I was very bundled up the whole trip.

This is a photo of me and my sorority sister Kayla. We had a successful recruitment this spring and I couldn't be happier!

I spent a long weekend in Tennessee and this is photo of me on one of the mountains. It was so gorgeous and a great way to spend the weekend.

I don't have photos of it yet, but for my boyfriend and I's one year anniversary we went to some of the springs in Florida. I couldn't believe how beautiful they were! I even got to see a manatee. We canoed down one of the streams with the springs and were able to get right next to it. A couple who were further down the river apparently got to see a school of otters, which I thought was so cool!

Until next time!

Weekend Recap

Wednesday, March 1, 2017

This weekend I had the honor of being chosen as my boyfriend's fraternity's dream girl. It was such a surprise! My very best friend took me out to dinner while they got ready. After that, she took me back to our campus and walked me to where they were waiting. It was such a beautiful ceremony and a moment I'll never forget!
